Hello there! There is BBQ...and then there is Q-BBQ. Welcome to our family.

Q-BBQ is an authentic BBQ restaurant with regional inspirations - from the backwoods of the Carolinas, to the meat markets of Texas, to the hole-in-the-walls of Memphis. In everything from our smoked meats (cooked low and slow for up to 22 hours), to our homemade sauces and from scratch sides, we give our own brand of culinary flare and distinct flavor to America's original comfort food. What you taste is far from ordinary.

In 2008 I drove across the country, eating BBQ along the way. I wasn’t the first to do this and certainly won’t be the last. It’s a classic American road trip that I highly recommend. Seek out the places that look like abandoned houses with lines of hungry people waiting for meals of smoked meats, mac & cheese, cornbread and sweet tea. In these places, everyone is family. In these places, legends begin.

Back in Chicago, I couldn’t get the smell of the hickory smokers and the taste of 22-hour smoked brisket out of my mind. I felt unsatisfied. After traveling from Memphis to Texas, from the Carolinas to Kansas City, I wanted to be a part of the authentic American BBQ tradition, to be a part of a community with purpose.

So in 2009 La Grange became the first home of Q-BBQ. Here we fine tuned our signature sauces, dry rubbed chicken wings, pulled top-quality pork by hand and chopped brisket into cubes of caramelized burnt ends. Soon we, too, had lines out the door. Lines of people wanting to be a part of something amazing. We were going to need more space.

Five stores and tens of thousands of raving fans later...we are just getting started. Our signature sauces are now sold in grocery markets across the region. We’ve won Michelin Guide awards for culinary excellence (but truth be told our People’s Choice 2015 & 2016 trophies from Chicago’s Ribfest holds a more prominent place on our company mantel). We even had the gumption to open a surprise pop-up restaurant for a full week in Chicago’s best known building: Willis Tower.

But from La Grange to Naperville to Schererville and now Oak Park, our mission has remained the same: sell reasons to come back. This is the heart of the matter. And this is our commitment to this community and our growing Q-BBQ family: we provide excellent experiences that harken back to when humans gathered around a fire and smoked meats, told stories, and enjoyed the company. It’s not just about the food, it’s about creating a connection with everyone that we meet. Oak Park is a legend unto itself with so much of the best that the Chicago suburbs have to offer. We’re proud to be a part of that now and we look forward to you coming back, again and again, because that’s how traditions begin...
